According to the general ranking of academic reputation and college infrastructure, Bishop Moore College can be often referred to as a Second Tier Institution. It currently is one of the colleges in Kerala, but it is not as famous or recognised on a national level as most Tier 1 colleges are. A plethora of courses are taught at college level with reasonable faculty and teaching facilities. However, it has fewer contacts as well less research experience and global status compared to the Tier 1 institutions. Entrance of students into Bishop Moore College depends much on merit as and often cut offs of between 70-85 vary depending on the popular courses offered. However, being Tier 2 status, it is recognised locally as an academic institution.

Majority of the B.Com graduates who pass out from the college are able to get average salary of rs 2.5lakhs to Rs 4.5 Lakhs per annum. The highest packages are granted to those students who had relatively high academic performance, relevant internship, and those students have a job placement in known companies especially in the field of finance, accounting and in large corporations. Bishop Moore College's admission rules may differ as a rule, it accepts students based on their performance, but the level of competition may also differ depending on the year and the type of program. For the undergraduate courses such as B.Sc and B.Com the cutoff percentage is normally between 70% to 85% for the aggregate in 12th standard. This can go higher for more competitive programs such as B.A. in English or History, and that too with some waivers. The college also provides some of the seats under SC/ST and OBC categories where the cutoff may slightly reduced. As to the extent of openness of admission, this will vary depending on what programme you have applied for and how many candidates applied for this particular year.

The pay scale or wage per annum for any candidate having M.Sc. degree is approximate Rs 2.5/- to Rs 4.5/- Lacs per annum. Adequate faculty and physical facilities are available besides low quality, minimum industry connectivity, and global acclamation as compared to better tier colleges and universities. However as per the information available the median compensation paid to M.Sc. students ranges between Rs. 2.5 Lacs and Rs. 4.5 Lacs per annum. Larger organisations could possibly pay higher initial salaries to students who had better grades or course performance and to students proceeding to post graduate or post doctoral studies or research may also be offered slightly better packages than others, fresh entrants into the job market are paid lower initial remuneration. The opportunities for placement are relatively limited and can be tied to local or regional businesses only.
