The selection criteria for B.E./B.Tech programs at Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering (DCE) and Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University (DSU) primarily involve a combination of entrance exam scores and fulfilling minimum eligibility requirements. For DSU, this includes national-level exams like DSUJET, JEE Main, or TNEA. For DCE, it's based on TNEA, CBSE 12th, and Tamil Nadu 12th scores. Here's a more detailed breakdown: 1. Eligibility Requirements:Academic Qualification:A pass in the 10+2 (Higher Secondary) examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of marks in Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry (for general B.Tech programs). Minimum Percentage:OC (General Category): Typically 50% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (M, P, C). BC (Backward Classes): 45% aggregate in M, P, C. MBC (Most Backward Classes): 40% aggregate in M, P, C. SC/ST: 40% aggregate in M, P, C. Lateral Entry:Candidates with a 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology are eligible for lateral entry into the third semester of the B.Tech program. 2. Selection Process:Entrance Exams:Admissions are based on scores obtained in national-level competitive examinations (e.g., DSUJET, JEE Main, TNEA). Counselling:Selected candidates are admitted into various programs through counselling. Merit-Based:Admissions are often merit-based, with candidates shortlisted for counselling based on their entrance exam scores. 3. Important Notes:Other State Students: Students from other states are usually considered under the OC category. Nativity Certificates: Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed their qualifying exams from outside Tamil Nadu may need to provide a Nativity Certificate. Additional Requirements: Specific requirements may vary depending on the program (e.g., for Computer Science, Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology may be required instead of Chemistry).
