The selection in BTech at Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, HIMT is on the basis of Class 12 marks. Applicants must have qualified Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Maths from a recognised Board. In my opinion, VIT Chennai is better than HIMT college becausethe highest salary placement in VIT Chennai is 75 LPA and the highest salary placement in HIMT College is 4 LPA. VIT has 2 coarses for B Sc. and HIMT has only one i.e Nautical Science.Total fees in VIT for B Sc. is 2.40 Lacs whereas in HIMT is 9.75 Lacs i.e VIT is cheaper.NAAC Accreditation for VIT is 'A+' and there is no NAAC Accreditation for HIMT.

Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT) is India's the largest maritime institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
