The calculation of CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) at IIIT Una - Indian Institute of Information Technology is typically based on a credit-based system. Here's a general overview of how CGPA is calculated:1. Credit System: Each course or subject at IIIT Una is assigned a specific number of credits based on its weightage and the number of hours of instruction. Typically, courses with more credits are considered more substantial in terms of workload and importance.2. Grade Points: IIIT Una follows a grading system where each grade is associated with a certain number of grade points. The exact grading scale ranges from S (excellent) to F (fail). The grade points assigned to each grade may also vary, with S typically having the highest grade point and F having the lowest or no grade points.3. Calculation of Grade Points: For each course, the grade obtained by the student is multiplied by the credits assigned to that course. This gives the "grade points earned" for that particular course. The same calculation is performed for all the courses in a semester.4. Cumulative Grade Points: The cumulative grade points are calculated by adding up the grade points earned in all the courses completed so far, up to the current semester.5. CGPA Calculation: To calculate the CGPA, the cumulative grade points earned are divided by the total credits completed so far, up to the current semester. This gives the CGPA, which represents the overall academic performance of the student.
