You won't get direct admission to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Management and Technology (Hyderabad) for MBA/PGDM course without appearing in an entrance test. The major mode of admission is through the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET), and applicants are selected on the basis of their TSICET scores. All official sources and recent notification for admissions strongly state that a valid TSICET score is necessary for normal admission. But, as with most private institutes, there could be a few management quota seats, for which direct admission might be feasible under extraordinary conditions. Even for those seats, you need to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria (a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks) and go through the application and document verification process.

Admission to the MBA/PGDM course at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Management and Technology is primarily based on the TSICET (Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test) score. The institute's official admission process and recent notifications emphasize that candidates must appear for and qualify in TSICET to be considered for regular MBA admission. However, direct admission (management quota) without TSICET is possible in some MBA colleges in Telangana, including private institutes, under certain conditions. For such seats, candidates must still meet the minimum eligibility (usually a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks) and may be evaluated based on academic performance, personal interview, or group discussion. The number of management quota seats is limited, and the process is competitive.

The cutoff of MBA admission for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Management and Technology, Hyderabad, is calculated on the basis of the TS ICET (Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test) rank. In 2024, the closing rank for General category under Home State quota was 4481, meaning candidates with ranks up to this number could be admitted. For comparison, the cut-off was 5391 in 2023 and much higher at 32071 in 2022, showing fluctuations based on applicant numbers, exam toughness, and seat numbers. General and OBC candidates need to obtain a minimum of 25% marks (i.e., 50 out of 200) to be eligible for TS ICET counseling, while SC and ST candidates have no minimum qualifying mark. It should be remembered that cutoff ranks can vary yearly and are always lower for reserved classes. Only individuals satisfying or exceeding the indicated cutoff are eligible for counseling and final seat allocation.
