Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com. Hons.) - Batch of 2022

Absolutely dissatisfied because we got no placements.
Placements: We were around 112 students in our first year. Everyone was friendly with each other. The first six months we enjoyed a lot. After 6 months, we all went home because the whole world was suffering in Corona. At first, we were all happy because we got holidays for 1 month at first, then we got 2 and a half years of holidays. We missed our college, our friends, everything. We don't have the highest, lowest, or average package; our college was a government college, so we all have one package, and it was good for everyone we paid, but we have to pay all amounts at once. We don't have any top recruiting companies, but last year we got offered by a Tech Hill company, that's all. Two students got internships in that company, and others didn't try because it was a private company. No top roles
Infrastructure: We got into classrooms, where we all got bored and sleepy. No Wi-Fi? Yeah, we have labs for science and geography students. The library was average and only used for college. We don't have hostels, no canteen, and one small shop we called our college canteen because we don't have a canteen or medical facilities. In sports, we get 3 to 5 sports games.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. And they teach very nicely, but only a few teachers are good at teaching. The curriculum is irrelevant and boring, and it doesn't make students industry-ready. The semester exams are very hard and strict. The pass percentage was 35%.
Other: I chose this course because it was good for my parents. There is nothing good about my course. They should improve some facilities like sports, Wi-Fi, libraries, canteens, toilets, classes, and many more things, but I'm not saying that college is not good. It's good, but only in a few things, so I think they have to improve a lot.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2018

I'm satisfied with my batch and the facilities they have provided.
Placements: Tech roles like software engineers, data scientists, and AI specialists are in demand, with median salaries in the U. S. around $100,00-$130,000 annually for entry-level positions. The chance to work on cutting-edge technologies like AI, cloud computing, or cybersecurity appeals to those who want to shape the future. Skills are transferable across industries (finance, healthcare, gaming, etc.). Many are drawn to problem-solving, coding, or creating apps and systems. Tech skills are universally applicable, offering opportunities for remote work or international careers.
Infrastructure: Universities often provide cutting-edge labs, software, and industry connections.
Faculty: Faculty members at Kalimpong College are described as supportive and friendly, always ready to assist students. They conduct extra classes weekly for doubt-solving, indicating a student-centric approach. Periodic student-teacher meetings are held to ensure open communication and address student needs, particularly for those from diverse cultural or socio-economic backgrounds. This suggests that philosophy department faculty likely prioritize student support, fostering an environment conducive to exploring complex philosophical concepts.
Other: Let's assume we're discussing a typical undergraduate batch (e.g., class of 2025) in a popular course like Computer Science at a mid-size university. A batch usually consists of 100-500 students, depending on the programme size, with diverse backgrounds (local and international students, varying socioeconomic statuses). The course would cover topics like programming, algorithms, data structures, AI, and software engineering, typically spanning 4 years for a bachelor's degree. You learn tangible skills (e.g., coding in Python, Java, or C++) that you can apply immediately in projects or internships. Colleges give group projects and hackathons to foster teamwork and creativity. Many programs offer job fairs, alumni networks, and internship placements with companies like Google or Microsoft. Courses often evolved to include trending topics like machine learning or blockchain.
