The ROI and value for money of a PGDM from PIBM Pune are very good, especially for students looking for strong placements at a reasonable cost. With the highest package reaching ₹26 LPA, an average of ₹10 LPA, and a median salary of ₹8 LPA, the outcomes are impressive for a mid-tier B-school. Considering the moderate fees, strong corporate exposure, and consistent placement support, PIBM is definitely a programme you can consider if you want good returns and solid career opportunities.

Hi.PIBM (Pune Institute of Business Management) is a well-regarded business school in India, and its reputation for offering quality education in areas like Finance, Marketing, and Business Analytics is generally positive. However, its overall standing and suitability for your goals will depend on what you're looking for in a program. Here's a general breakdown:1. FinancePIBM has a focus on practical, industry-relevant training in finance. The curriculum is designed to give students a strong foundation in financial analysis, risk management, and investment strategies. The institute's emphasis on industry interaction (with various financial institutions) and internships could make it a good option if you're looking for hands-on experience. However, if you're aiming for high-tier global finance roles or investment banking positions, schools like IIMs, XLRI, or SP Jain might offer more in terms of networking and exposure.2. MarketingPIBM has a strong emphasis on Marketing, offering a variety of courses that cover everything from traditional marketing techniques to digital marketing. The institute has tie-ups with companies and opportunities for internships and live projects, which is great for practical learning. In terms of marketing education in India, it can be a good option for students looking for solid industry exposure, but again, if you're aiming for a top marketing role in multinational companies, you might want to consider schools like IIM Ahmedabad, FMS Delhi, or MICA (for digital marketing and communication-focused careers).3. Business AnalyticsBusiness Analytics is a rapidly growing field, and PIBM has adapted to that trend by offering specialised programs in this area. The curriculum typically combines data analysis, machine learning, and decision-making tools. There is an increasing demand for business analysts in every industry, and PIBM's focus on real-world application makes it a solid option.

I completed my PGDM from PIBM Pune, and I can share how the placement scenario really is from a student's point of view.Placements at PIBM are quite decent if you stay consistent throughout the course. The college brings in a good mix of companies, from consulting and finance firms like Deloitte, KPMG, and PwC to marketing and FMCG brands like ITC, HUL, Marico, and Amul. In my batch, most of us got placed during the final semester itself, and the average package was somewhere around ₹8–9 LPA, depending on specialization. What really helped was the corporate training and internships we went through before placements. We had multiple mock interviews, aptitude tests, and live business projects with real companies. Honestly, those sessions made a big difference when facing recruiters.it depends a lot on your communication skills, confidence, and how active you are during internships and training. The placement cell supports you well, but you also have to put in your effort.Overall, I'd say PIBM offers good placement opportunities and strong industry exposure for the investment. If you use the two years wisely, you'll definitely come out with a solid start to your career.

As a former student of PIBM, I can share my perspective on both, as I had also explored Alliance University before finalizing my decision for PIBM.Alliance has been around for quite some time and is known for its campus infrastructure and exposure in Bangalore city. It is a private university, so it has the flexibility to design its curriculum. However, from what I saw and heard from a few peers studying there, the placement support is a bit mixed. You might find some good companies during placements, but consistency and ROI sometimes become a concern. The fee is slightly on the higher side too. On the other hand, PIBM is more focused on industry-driven curriculum and practical learning. During my time here, we were constantly involved in live business projects, corporate sessions, dual internships, case-study-based training, and direct interactions with industry experts. The placement process was also very structured – companies like Deloitte, EY, PwC, HDFC, and KPMG visited campus, and students across different specializations received good opportunities.Another difference I noticed was the ROI factor. PIBM's fee is comparatively reasonable and the placements make the investment worth it. Plus, being in Pune – a big corporate hub – gave us more access to internships and corporate visits. If you are someone who feels more value in a big campus and university branding, Alliance might appeal to you. But if your priority is career growth, industry exposure, and ROI, then PIBM is definitely the better choice. From my personal experience, I would say PIBM provided me with the platform where I definitely learned, grew, and ultimately got placed at a reputed firm through campus drives. So yes, you can join Alliance, but if you're looking for better ROI and focused career outcomes, I'd suggest going with PIBM.

Being a former student of PIBM, my experience says yes, you can definitely get admission at PIBM with 78 percentile in CAT. One thing keep in mind is that PIBM does not rely only on CAT percentile – they also accept scores from XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, and they even have their own aptitude process called PMAT.The selection process at PIBM is more profile-oriented than just cutoff-driven. Let's say my example, as far as I remember, during my admission, the evaluation was done on multiple parameters, like these:Entrance exam score (CAT/other exams)Academic backgroundPIBM aptitude test & group discussionPersonal Interview (PI)When I joined, I had a percentile around 75 and still got through because I performed well in their GD-PI round (Group Discussion & Personal Interview) and showed clarity in my career goals.PIBM focuses more on overall potential and skills, not just exam scores. If you are serious about pursuing an MBA/PGDM here, prepare well for GD & PI, be able to highlight your strengths, and you should have a good chance. Also, placements are solid if you're ready to put in effort – top companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, and PwC visit the campus. Many of my batchmates with a percentile around yours were placed in good profiles. So yes, with 78 percentile in CAT, you have a fair chance of admission at PIBM. I'd recommend applying and preparing well for the next rounds.
