A student will not regret getting admission to the college.
Placements: 100 percent of students were placed from our course. The highest salary was Rs. 20,000 per month and the lowest was Rs. 8,000 per month. Top recruiting companies which came were L&T, Pinnacle, and UltraTech. There were no internships, there were direct recruitments after the end of the course. The top roles which were offered were the positions of Junior Engineer and Site Engineer.
Infrastructure: They had a computer lab. They had all labs and their equipment related to Civil Engineering. They had a big canteen, big grounds, big common room, a library, smart classrooms, and a gym. The hostel was clean. The toilets were also clean. The food provided by them was also good. There was no ragging in the college. They had various sports like cricket, football, and tennis.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful and highly qualified. They gave us real-life examples and also practical knowledge. It made students industry-ready. One can easily survive in the industry. They were strict during exams. So one had to study, then go and give the exam.
Other: From my childhood, I liked the concept of buildings. So I thought that I could go with this course to become what I want to be. Everything about the course is perfect there's nothing negative to say about the course.

Decent academics and poor hostel.
Placements: Overall, the DCST placement scenario is decent but requires personal effort. Students who took initiative in skill building, internships, and communication training fared much better. TPI provides support with placement link and coaching, but individual practice (especially in coding & English plays a major role in landing good offers. Most entry-level roles were technical support or web development-focused, with some students choosing to continue higher education via JELET.
Infrastructure: The DCST department at TPI, Hooghly, offers good campus Wi-Fi, a well-stocked library, and academic resources, but SMART classrooms are underutilized. Hostel Wi-Fi is extremely slow and nearly unusable. Hostel rooms are small and shared by two mess, and the canteen food quality is poor. Medical support is minimal, and sports equipment access is limited outside of events. Overall, academics are satisfactory, but hostel facilities and everyday student amenities need improvement.
Faculty: The faculty situation in DCST at TPI, Hooghly, is a major drawback: teachers change every year, causing disruption and adjustment issues. Some faculty members are inexperienced (even final-year BTechs). Combined with the West Bengal Polytechnic syllabus being outdated, the curriculum often fails to align with current industry standards. This inconsistency makes it harder for students to get strong mentorship or feel industry-ready after graduation. Regular exams are manageable in difficult situations, and most students pass, but true learning and competitive preparation require extra self-study and outside resources due to these systemic gaps.
Other: If you're planning to join a Diploma in a core engineering branch TPIs Mechanical and Electrical departments are very strong. Placements and package offers are much better compared to CS like BCA. For CS consider TPI only if you lack other options explore colleges with updated syllabus and better faculty exposure for computer Science.

Our college is good, but sometimes I hate my college for job facilities.
Placements: 70 students are instructed in our Computer Science and Technology department. The highest salary is Rs. 20,000, the lowest salary Rs. 7,000, and the average salary is Rs. 12,000. I'm a 3rd year 5th sem student, but I don't get an internship in any companies, so I think our college doesn't provide any internship in any other average companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi doesn't work, the college doesn't provide AC in the lab, the classrooms are good, but the cameras don't work, the library ambience is good, but the instructor's behavior is very rude with students. Hostel facilities are good, but food quality is the worst. Canteen food also average, and medical facilities are good. Sports and games are taught at our college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Our computer graphics teacher, Shilpa, is good, but her behavior is very rude. Our best teacher is Priya miss. I haven't seen this type of teacher anywhere. Her teaching skills are the best. Her behavior is like that of a friend. My best teacher.
Other: I am passionate about Computer Science and technology courses. Coding skills are taught. All events are done properly.

Placements: Technique Polytechnic Institute's placement records show impressive numbers. For the diploma courses, around 70 to 95% of students get placed. The highest package offered ranges from 1.7 to 6 LPA. The average package is around 1.5 to 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include L&T, Tata Motors, Infosys, Amazon, and Flipkart. Many students also secure internships with companies like L&T and Infosys. Popular roles offered to diploma students include Junior Engineer, Data Entry Operator, and Computer Operator.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in our college, Technique Polytechnic Institute, is excellent with Wi-Fi, multiple labs for every stream, a library, a canteen, a playground, and many more things, such as a garden. There are many flowers and a basketball net for girls racket net and boys common room and girls common room.
Faculty: In our college, all the faculty are helpful. All teachers are highly qualified and intelligent. Their teaching technique is more friendly and in exams, hard guarding is there, so cheating is impossible in this college.
Other: In our college, TPI, every course is good because all the students get good placement. Every year, we organize a fest, a program called Awahoni.

If students are really serious about their career, then I recommend them to take admission here.
Placements: Every student gets at least 1/2 jobs in manufacturing companies, so placements in our college are low in the computer science department. I don't know why, but this is reality. In other courses like mechanical, electrical, and civil, there are excellent placements, and every student gets a job.
Infrastructure: There is high-speed Wi-Fi for all students. Labs are also good. It provides real books to help with our upcoming exams. The library management system is good. I do not stay in the hostel, but I know a little bit about it, and the food there is decent.
Faculty: All teachers are helpful and very humble to all students. They solve all doubts, and the purpose of teachers is to clear all problems. Every teacher gives their best to explain sums. To be honest, my favorite teacher is Shilpa Polly, and she explains very smoothly.

A must-consider college to get affordable yet quality Polytechnic education in Hooghly.
Placements: In my Polytechnic college for Computer Science, placements are limited. The college does its best to bring companies, but they're usually startups or mid-level firms offering basic roles like frontend development. High-level roles aren't common through campus drives. Around 20% of students get good placements by actively searching and applying off-campus. Our college mainly provides training for general interview skills like group discussions and aptitude tests, with very few technical mock interviews.
Infrastructure: The campus has good Wi-Fi, CCTV monitoring, network jammers, and enough lab facilities. The hostel and canteen food are decent, though the hostel coordinator is strict, which I think is good. There is no separate girls' hostel. The college ensures safety with an anti-ragging committee. Annual sports, fests, and seminars are regularly organized, making campus life active and engaging.
Faculty: The course is well-structured and well-designed to meet its goals and to teach the practical skills needed for jobs, and the college does this effectively. The faculty members are supportive and educated, though the teaching quality is mostly average, with a few excellent teachers. Students have the freedom to explore and learn at their own pace. Since the college doesn't pay well, we have a mix of very good teachers and some less experienced ones. The subjects are essential, but some core topics feel outdated compared to the AI era and need updating. Still, you'll get good real-world exposure and guidance to prepare for any role. Attendance of 60% is required to sit for exams, which are usually easy and predictable if you study smartly.
Other: I chose to pursue Computer Science and Technology as my stream because I had already pre-planned this and always wanted to secure a career in the IT industry. The hostel and canteen food is pretty average. Every year, apart from studies, events like annual fest, annual sports, inter-college and intra-college competitions, and a pretty good social life are available. The faculty is very supportive and always excel in training students to crack whatever job the students want to pursue at their own pace. It is recommended.
