The minimum qualification to attend counselling and get into Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology, for the purpose of UG courses is 10+2 with Science stream and mathematics, and the candidate should have scored not less than 50% in physics, chemistry and mathematics put together. The admissions to the B.E./B.Tech programmes in Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and Technology are through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) every year using marks obtained in Standard Xll. However, students can also opt for management seat where students can directly get admitted without having to take part in TNEA counseling process. Management quota admitted students have to fulfill certain academic standards; the fee may be slightly higher than that of TNEA.
