The results of the annual QS Asian University Rankings go live on May 13. Compiled by the team of researchers responsible for the QS World University Rankings, the 2010 QS Asian University Rankings will again cast the spotlight onto Asia’s top universities.

The rankings adapt the methodology used in the QS World University Rankings to include more regionally specific factors. Designed to assess the full range of merits of a modern comprehensive university, they are based on four key pillars: research quality, teaching quality, graduate employability and international outlook.

In 2009 the rankings revealed the strength of Hong Kong and Japan, which together accounted for all of the top five positions. The QS Asian Rankings are part of an expansion to the QS World University Rankings, which have been running since 2004 and are the most widely-referenced ranking of global comprehensive universities. This is set to include the development of additional regional rankings to be announced in the coming months.
