The government is in talks with the managements of private engineering colleges for the allotment of 7,000 additional seats through the CET ranking in private colleges. These seats will be exclusive of those which have already been filled-up in the Government pool of seats in the private colleges for the current academic year. The government would step in only if the fee structure of the private engineering colleges is the same as prescribed for the Government quota of seats. The incident was reported anonymously and after a surprise check, hostel wardens caught the seniors red-handed. Now, the University has announced that all colleges operating under the University will be turned into Tobacco-Free Zones.
