DU Admissions: Want to know more?
After the completion of 10+2, most of the students face dilemma about which course & college to opt for. How to go about seeking admissions in the same? Where to apply and where to search all the information from? Most of the students, who are fresh pass outs from 10+2, are puzzled about the DU admission process. DU has almost 80 colleges under its umbrella. Some colleges are very well known, and are among the top colleges of the city and country. Miranda House, Gargi College etc. are few of the to
p colleges for girls. Hans Raj, Khalsa College, Sri Venkateshwara College and Delhi College of Arts and Commerce are few names, which have earned their name and prestige among students. If we ask any students about these colleges, most of the students seem to be aware about these. But there are many other colleges, who are really good and have good infrastructure facility, well-known faculty, and much more to their credit. So, those students who have not scored relatively well compared to toppers & high scorers can think over these options.
Every year, over 10 Lakh students appear in 10+2 exam, and many pass this exam with flying colors. This year too many students scored above 80% marks in their 10+2. The passing percentage of students is going up every year, and the number of students who are getting distinctions in one and more subjects have also increased considerably. Due to this changing scenario, the race for the admission is getting tougher every year. DU sells lakhs of admission forms in two weeks from the start of sale every year. There are limited seats in every college, and for those 1000-1500 seats over 10,000 to 15,000 students apply. So, only those students who have scored high marks in their best subject or applied course will surely get admission in their desired colleges & courses. The race for admission is a bit tough this year as more than 3,000 students have scored above 95% marks. To reserve your seat in one of the DU colleges, you should apply for all applicable courses in the same. The below mentioned cut-off list would give you an idea of last year's percentage of marks required to reserve your seat in your desired colleges. You can also check your possibilities of getting admission in the same.
