<p style="text-align: justify;">Gujarat University is one of the most renowned university of the state. If offers many courses to students. The courses range from humanities to management and many more. Every year number of students applies in this university to get admission. Only few lucky from those thousands get admission into the university. Like other university there are many institutes which are affiliated from Gujarat University.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Gujarat University decided to scrap the NRI students quota in its self financed institutions affiliated from the University. This decision <img style="border: 3px solid black; margin: 3px 4px; float: right;" src=" https://images.shiksha.com/mediadata/images/1269941369phpZYnyVN.jpeg" alt="" width="110" height="150">was taken keeping in mind that the self financed institutions are charging heavy amount from students as fee for NRI quota. According to sources, "the university decided to scrap the NRI quota from the self-finance institutes as there were a number of complaints that the institutes were making big money by taking huge amounts for admissions on these seats." However, managements of SFIs say that this is not the fact; actually the university is molding the truth.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The university authority also mentioned, "Actually, the NRI quota was abolished seven/eight years ago. Now, there is only 10% management seats, where the institutes are deciding only the entry mode for admission whereas the fees are same as in the case of general seats."</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">The university is also planning to increase the fee of its PG course. The fee charged by the University for the PG course is comparitivly very low. There is one more change the Gujarat University is implementing with its new session. It is going to give admission to first 60 students on merit basis and rest by taking the higher fees for its PG courses. The University will utilize these funds for the increase funds for lecturers and for library and infrastructure.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Scraping the NRI quota will surely going to give a relief to students. The institutes those who are charging hefty amount on the name of NRI quota will not be happy with this new initiative.
