The basic motive of the society is to endorse human exploration and colonization of Mars. University students from technical and scientific background will be hired to build a team of pioneers and their creativity and passion will be used to generate more ideas.
At present, the society has few members but it is expanding and the society will be organizing various Mars related programmes in the coming days. According to scientists at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad, the primary focus should be given to India's mission to mars rather than on second lunar mission.
In the recent past, IIT students have made commendable technological innovations like IIT Kanpur students have launched a Nano satellite ‘Jugnu' and IIT Rajasthan students launched ‘Aakash Tablet'.
