Low Grade Institutions a threat for foreign university education bill

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Union Cabinet cleared the bill of foreign universities to establish their shops in India. If the bill will convert into the law than it will give green signal to all the foreign universities to set up their offices in India. Presently, there are number of deemed universities in India also who offers number of courses, they charge big amount as fee but do not offer quality education to students. With the arrival of the <img style="border: 3px solid black; margin: 3px 4px; float: right;" src="https://images.shiksha.com/mediadata/images/1268822076php5UaXaK.jpeg" alt="" width="150" height="110">foreign universities to India there are great chances that we may see a flood of &ldquo;low quality&rdquo; educational institution coming here to establish there shops. This will enable them to establish the institution here and offer the degrees independently.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Philip G Altbach, director of the Centre for International Higher Education at Boston College, told, &ldquo;When India opens the door to foreign universities, many institutions will rush in, but many, if not most, of them will be of low quality coming with an eye on making easy money.&rdquo; He further added in the conversation, &ldquo;And if India does not have a regime in place that can monitor and control the quality of the foreign institutions, it will have a serious problem. You have to be careful that you&rsquo;re not exploited through low-quality products or exorbitant tuition fees.&rdquo;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />The experts are worried about the quality and standards of the Institutions. They want that only quality institution should be given permission to set up their shops in India. There must be some committee to monitor all these things and a special board who will give permission to foreign universities.
