The All India Council for Technical Education notice on poor standards to no less than 101 colleges across the country has forced the institutions to introspect their faculty and infrastructure.

Out of 101 colleges said to be below quality standards, 26 are from Andhra Pradesh, 23 from Maharashta, 12 in Uttar Pradesh and 6 in Tamil Nadu.

Colleges in Erode, Dharmapuri and Theni have also received the notice for not being able to meet the standards.

The notice has left the institutions with no option but to improve their faculty and Infrastructure requirements, while others have caught the eye of AICTE for offering Applied Science courses like BSc Information Technology, BSc Bioinformatics and MS IT in Engineering colleges.

It’s time for the institutes in question to pull up their socks, as according to reports as many as 40% of all Engineering colleges can be closed down for faculty shortage, infrastructure requirement and harassment of students and faculty.

there are many aicte approved engineering colleges in punjab which do not meet standards specified by the body and they get scot free the inspections by means best known to the institutions and the aicte teams. it is time aicte is honest in true reports and follow up action instead of rheoteric.
