The university recently proposed to launch a joint degree MBA-LLM course, the first in the country. To be launched by the university's school of law, the joint degree course would be under the ambit of University Grants Commission's (UGC) recently notified 'scheme on innovation universities’.

About the programme:

Christened as MBA/LLM programme in International Law and Management, the programme will endow students with the basics of both management and law.The very programme is designed at par with the standards of that of Harvard and Oxford Universities and has never been offered by any Indian universities till now.

Pondicherry University vice-chancellor Chandra Krishnamurthy said that the school of law would introduce a high quality one-year master's degree in LLM to retain students in the country. LLD (doctorates in letters and literature) in various disciplines is now on the cards.
