Now get LLM degree in just 1 year!
UGC just gave law students a reason to cheer! The proposal to convert master’s degree programme in law (LLM) into a one year programme has been approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).
Only law students in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan have to devote two years for a LLM programme. From now on, students wanting to pursue LLM in India can complete the master’s degree in one year instead of two years. The objective of this move is to encourage law grads to pursue further education in the country instead of having to go abroad where the course duration is less.
To look into the proposal, an expert committee was set up by the UGC under N R Madhava Menon, founding vice-chancellor of National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
