Faculty of Management Studies, better known as FMS, situated within the campus of University of Delhi, will be conducting an All-India level entrance exam FMS 2011 to grant admission to students in different programmes namely, PhD (Management), Two- year MBA (Full Time), Two- year MBA-Management of Services (MS), Three -year MBA (Part Time) and Three-year MBA (PT) Health Care Administration (only through interview).

For 2011, the total number of seats for each of the MBA programmes offered by FMS, Delhi is enumerated as below:

2-year Full-Time MBA programme: Total number of seats--226. Out of which, number of seats for General students-101, OBC students--54, SC students--30, ST students--15, Supernumerary: PH (Physically Handicapped) students--6, CW (Children of Defense Personnel killed/disabled in Action or on Duty) students--10 and Foreign Students (FS)--10.

3-year Part Time MBA programme: Total number of seats--232. Out of which, number of seats for General category students--109, OBC students--58 seats, SC students--32 seats, ST students--16, Supernumerary: PH students--6 and CW students--11.

3-year Part Time MBA (Health Care Administration) programme: Total seats--42. Out of which, number of seats for General students--19, OBC students--11, SC students--6, ST students--3, Supernumerary: PH students--1 and CW students-2.

PhD program: Not more than 20 seats.

FMS 2011 Format

Major changes have been introduced in FMS exam with effect from FMS 2011 Ato make the admission procedure simplified and convenient for the MBA aspirants. The registration for FMS 2011 has already commenced from September 6, 2010. Since the registration process is now online, the candidates need to log on to the official website of FMS, Delhi to get registered. The online registration window will close on October 15, 2010. FMS exam for MBA Full Time (FT) and PhD will be held on December 5, 2010, while the entrance exam for the MBA Part Time (PT) and MBA Health Care Administration (HCA) is slated on January 23, 2011.

The two-year MBA (FT) and two-year MBA Management of Services (MS) have been integrated into a course named "MBA (FT)" for which the maximum student intake would be 226. In the series of changes introduced in FMS 2011, there is another addition according to which now thE candidates need to appear for the FMS exam for seeking admission in MBA (HCA). Until 2010, the candidates used to be selected for this programme on the basis of interviews. The pioneer institute FMS, Delhi has announced that an entrance examination would be conducted for the part-time healthcare administration programme. Some new locations, Varanasi, Roorkee and Baroda, have also been included in the list of test centers.

FMS 2011 Eligibility Criteria

FMS Eligibility Criteria for MBA part-time

  • The candidate should be holding a Bachelor's degree with at least 45 % marks
  • Essential requisite--A minimum of 3 years of work experience as an administrator or an executive in a industrial, commercial or government organization after clearing the Bachelor's Degree Examination
  • The candidate should be sponsored by his/her present employer for being able to apply for FMS.
