FMS Summer Placements 2012-13

The summer placement report of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), New Delhi is as follows:

  • Number of offers and participating companies: Despite uncertain economic conditions, 170 companies confirmed participation, out of which 88 participated this year making 210 offers for a batch of 210 students. The placement policy of FMS allows only one offer per student.
  • Number of International Offers: A total of six international offers were received.
  • Salary Details: The highest stipend stood at Rs 5 lakhs for two months. 
  • Exclusive/First-time/Coveted recruiters: First time recruiters included Morgan Stanley, Reliance Industries Limited, Nokia, Sony, Raymond, Redseer Consulting, ICRA Management Consulting among others. Avigo Capital hired exclusively from FMS for its Private Equity profile.
  • Sector-wise break up: While the financial services segment absorbed around 29% of all students, 23% of acceptances were in the management consulting sector. Sales & marketing accounted for the highest 39% of the batch. Rest 9% comprised roles in HR, Operations etc.

  • Other facts:FMS reaffirmed itself as the Marketing Campus of the country with the presence of almost all the top notch recruiters โ€“ HUL, P&G, ITC, J&J, Kraft โ€“ Cadbury, Coca Cola, Nokia, Asian Paints, Reckitt Benckiser, Glaxo Smithkline Consumer, Phillips, Godrej Consumer, etc.
  • Compared to last year a few top notch names were missing like Goldman Sachs, Avendus Capital, NM Rothschild, Development Bank of Singapore etc. Also, international companies like Olam International and IT giant Microsoft didnโ€™t turn up.
