Apply to many MBA colleges on one destination
This time of the year students run around various colleges to fetch and submit application forms. How about a place that allows you to submit application forms to multiple colleges? Modelled around โThe Common App' of US which is accepted by more that 400 colleges for undergraduate admissions, Shiksha.com has launched a common online platform for MBA aspirants.
To start with, 11 MBA institutions have tied up with Shiksha to allow candidates to apply through a common admission form online. These include Nirma University's Institute of Management, Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), and Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) among others. Mr. Prakash Sangam, Business Head of Shiksha.com, says, "The goal is to bring at least 100 prestigious management institutes on board for convenience of students."
Every year, about four lakh management aspirants appear for entrance exams. It takes a lot of time for students to fill up forms for different colleges. An online application form for all the institutes will help students save time as they will only have to fill up information once, which can then be used to apply to any institute of their choice.
The application form also helps students to track the status of their application forms, pay the application fees online, and can even see recommendations of other management institutes that are accepting students with similar percentiles or scores for their programmes.
According to Mr. Hitesh Oberoi, MD & CEO of Info Edge India Ltd. that owns Shisha.com, "Apart from students, institutes also stand to gain from the online application platform as it will not increase the number of applications they receive but also makes overall management of applications online much easier."
