Distance Learning Programmes by LPU get Tremendous Response

Insia's Largest university, Lovely Professional University, is continuously making quality education affordable and accessible through its Directorate of Open and Distance Learning (DODL). More than hundred students of DODL will also be awarded Degrees/Diplomas during the First Convocation of the University on 24th September.

Two Students will be receiving Gold-Medals for their brilliance at studies. The Governor of Punjab, the Administrator of UnionTerritory of Chandigarh and Visitor of the University, Shivraj Vishwanath Patil, will preside and deliver the Convocation address.The ceremony is for LPU Pass Outs of (2007, 2008, 2009and 2010 Batches')-Regular as well Distance Education Students.

One of the Gold- Medalists, Madiha Sehdev, who has completed her PGDBM, has very positive views about the beneficial systems of ODL: "I like its pattern and technique of imparting education under e-portal very novel and special."

Prof. Harpreet Singh Bedi, who has completed his MBA and continuing Ph. D says: "These programmes are indeed going to help me much in my career ahead. The programmes are taught under easily understandable study-matter which are, surprisingly, based on pattern of international universities. "It is worth illustration that LSODL, within a short span of its inception, is regularly scaling the heights. At present, it has about 800 students on its rolls. The study material is provided to the students at the time of admission free of cost. The admission is still open and the contact classes for new session will commence from the first week of October.

Talking to the Media about Distance Learning programmes, Ashok Mittal, the Chancellor of the University said: " For the students, who cannot pursue their formal education in Colleges and Universities due to weak economic conditions or some other reasons, our University is running its School of Open and Distance Learning (LSODL). Presently, it is providing education in 14 Programmes in the field of Management and IT, at Bachelor's and Master's Level. These, being unique in nature, are getting tremendous response this year as well. The students have well managed on-line support to get updated through e-portal which provides full information about result, academic calendar etc."
