The state government of Goa is planning to file an affidavit in the high court to adjourn the NEET for Goa aspirants by one year. They want it to be held in 2013 for students of Goa.

Goa wants to held medical and dentistry entrance exam in its previous format for one more year. Along with Maharashtra, Goa is also worried about the syllabus for the national exam as it is very tough and vast too. The consequence would be that several seats for medical and dentistry will go vacant.

If you are preparing for NEET UG medicine and dentistry courses then make sure that you have a good command on the syllabus of class 11th and 12th. If you are preparing for NEET PGs seats, then you should have thorough knowledge of the syllabus of all the years of the medicine and dentistry courses. Moreover, it is expected that students have due knowledge about the portion of the previous years; which is not practical as it is tough to remember the each and every bit of the syllabi.

Goa had written to the Medical Council of India (MCI) and Union health ministry requesting them to hold the exam for Goa from 2013 onwards. Goa's application has been rejected by the center stating that the fear is irrelevant and the syllabus has been prepared carefully by taking into consideration all the advantages and disadvantages.
