<p style="text-align: justify;">In a first, the Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad (MICA) not only has corporate houses hunting for fresh talent on their campus this year, but also government agencies, which took part in the placement process and also recruited six students.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Six students managed to secured government jobs during the placement with department of commissioner of information recruiting four <img style="border: 3px solid black; margin: 3px 4px; float: right;" src=" https://images.shiksha.com/mediadata/images/1264852819phpLnXXNs.jpeg" alt="" width="150" height="110">students, and the department of disaster management picking up the other two. Welcoming the government's participation in the placement process, campus placement director, Ashok Ranchhod said, "It is an excellent initiative and we are very happy about it."</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Explaining the profile and the significance of the job offers that have been received from government agencies, prof Arbind Sinha, who was keenly involved in the process said, "While the students have been offered posts of consultants by government agencies, they will be working on communication and strategic planning for them."</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />He said, "It is a very good development. Not only has the government recognised the potential of MICA but it has also proved that the institute is not only for the corporate sector but also for the social sector. The job offers of more than Rs 5 lakhs are good for the students as well. Since no international or national agencies can work without the government, these posts are significant."</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Manager of communications at MICA, Jyoti Sudhir, said, "The remaining students seek specific roles in niche industries like shipping &amp; sports marketing to mention just a few."While the highest package has gone up from 12 lakhs last year to 18 lakhs this year, the average salary has gone up to 7.8 lakhs as compared to 7 lakhs in 2009. Companies like Big FM, Leo Burnett, IMRB &amp; Mudra Communications were among the organisations that recruited the highest number of students.
