ICET 2014: Eligibility criteria & selection procedure
Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) 2014 for MBA and MCA courses will be held on May 23, 2014. The last date to apply with late fee is May 19, 2014.
ICET 2014 will be conducted by Kakatiya University, Warangal, on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad. ICET scores are used for admission into various Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes in universities of Andhra Pradesh and their affiliated colleges.
To be ELIGIBLE, candidates need to fulfil the following criterion:
1. Candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date.
2. The candidates other than Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.
3. The candidates seeking admission to:
i) MBA: Should must have a recognised bachelorโs degree (minimum three years) with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of reserved categories).
ii) MCA: Should have passed a recognised bachelors degree examination (minimum three years) with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of reserved categories) in the qualifying examination with Mathematics at 10+2 level.
4. The qualifying Degree obtained by Distance Mode Program should have recognition by joint committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC.
5. The candidates appearing for final year examination are also be eligible to appear for ICET-2014.
6. Post qualifying in ICET, the candidate must appear for counselling at the notified centers.
Selection Procedure
a) The qualifying percentage of marks in the entrance test is 25% (i.e. 50 marks out of total 200 marks). Candidates belonging to SC/ST, require no minimum qualifying percentage marks.
b) Candidates will be given state-wide ranks in the order of merit at the ICET - 2014. For the preparation of merit list, in case more than one student scores the same ranks at ICET, the tie will be resolved by:
(i) By considering the marks scored in Section-A
(ii) If the tie persists, marks obtained by a student in Section-B will be taken into consideration.
(iii) If the tie still persists, the tie will be resolved by taking into account the age of the candidate giving the older candidate Priority.
c) Rank obtained in ICET - 2014 is valid for admission into MBA/MCA Course (Full Time / Part Time / Evening / Distance Mode) of all universities in Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2014-2015 only.
