IIM-A in top 10 of B-School chart
As per the recent Financial Times (FT) Business School rankings for its Masters in Management programme 2010, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has been ranked at position 8 in the list of top 65 B-schools for its flagship 2-year Post Graduate Programme (PGP). IIM-A has participated for the first time ever in the ranking assessment, based on 28 parameters.
The number 1 position in the list has been grabbed by the Icole Supirieure de Commerce de Paris (ECSP Europe), which was ranked at number 2 last year. The number 2 position in the list has been occupied by CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education.
Dr. Samir Kumar Barua, IIM-A Director, said, "We have been ranked number eight for our two-year masters programme in management in the category where the candidates pursuing the course need not have any work experience to join the programme. This is the first time we have participated in the FT rankings. To be a part of the assessment, one has to qualify."
Also, these rankings are being looked upon as a step towards more international collaborations by the IIM-A Director.
