IIM-A in top 100 B-schools worldwide
The only institute in India to make it to the list of Top 100 B-schools across the world, IIM Ahmedabad has been ranked 56 by 'The Economist'. Interestingly, the top position in the '2012 Full time MBA ranking' was awarded to Booth School of Business, University of Chicago.
The top 8 positions of The Economist B-school world rankings were dominated by the US business schools. The Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College was ranked second, while the traditional favourites - Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business were ranked 4 and 8, respectively.
Overall, 48 B-schools included in the Top 100 list at the global level were from the United States. One institute from China (China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) ranked 85) and three from Hong Kong made it to the list too. These Hong Kong B-Schools included:
- Rank 41: Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Hong Kong
- Rank 62: School of Business and Management, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
- Rank 94: Chinese University of Hong Kong
Other Asian universities included Nanyang Business School from Singapore (Rank 72), Yonsei University School of Business from Republic of Korea (Rank 83), and the Business School of the National University of Singapore (Rank 92).
