IIM-A's 3rd placement attracts industry stalwarts
The third placement cluster at IIM-A (Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad) has started. Major players like Mahindra, RG Group, Ingersoll Rand, Yes Bank, Reserve Bank of India, HDFC were some of the companies which recruited students from the country's top B- School, reported DNA India.
According to sources at the institute, the group discussion commenced on 20th February and students were offered jobs after interviews by the companies.
Ingersoll Rand made four offers including two roles in general management and their 'Entrepreneur Creation Program' where students will place on a fast-track learning path. They will be provided seed capital for their own businesses for Ingersoll Rand products and solutions at the end of two years.
Dr Arvind Agrawal, president - Corporate Development and Human Resources at RPG Group told the DNA India that they were happy with the competence of the students, hiring more students then they usually do. Other top recruiters include Wrigley, HT Media and Welspun which offered marketing jobs to students. According to Sanjay Gopinath, director (HR) at Wrigley, students were focused and clear about their careers impressing the company with their multi-faceted personalities. He feels that the curriculum and tough deadlines at IIM-A contributes a great deal in making the students very good at multi-tasking.
Recruiters also included major financial services providers like RBI, Yes Bank, HDFC, Crisil and JM Financial with five offers alone from Yes Bank. The fourth cluster is scheduled for 26th February.
