IIM-A’s exchange programme looks global
In an effort to boost diversity on campus, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), commenced their annual student exchange programme this term.
The institute welcomed 69 students from various international universities, who’ll stay on the campus for three months. A total number of 107 students from IIM-A have opted to pursue a term's study abroad. Out of the 69 international students, 44 are male and 27 female. Twenty-four students are French and 19 are German.
Students can study and earn credits for one of three terms in their second year at a university other than their home university.
With the help of this programme, IIM-A has been able to collaborate with well known global business schools such as University of Bocconi Italy, ESSEC Paris, Columbia Business School, IE Madrid, EDHEC Paris and Cologne University in Germany.
“Our aim is to have one-third of the batch participate in the exchange programme in the coming year. With a sustained effort by both the Exchange Office and the Exchange Council, we hope to ensure that there is more diversity for both incoming and outgoing students by signing MoUs with more universities abroad. Having bagged tie-ups with a varsity from South Africa and one more school from South America, we plan to increase the variety of varsities to tie up with,” informed Shailesh Nadar, student coordinator of the Exchange Council of IIM-A.
