IIM Ahmedabad final placements 2015: An overview

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has successfully concluded its placement process for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) batch of 2013-15. The third and final cluster of the placement process was held on March 1, 2015. The process followed the concept of ‘dream application’ that gave the students a chance to choose the functions and sectors for their final placement. The recruitment cycle for the batch of 375 students was effectively completed with the completion of the third cluster.
More than 115 firms participated in the placement process 2015 including the lateral process. Accenture Strategy emerged as the top recruiter across all the clusters by scooping up 21 out of 375 students this year. Other top recruiters included Amazon, Samsung, Bharti Airtel, McKinsey & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, Yes Bank, Future Group, etc. There were numerous first-time recruiters including Future Group, Practo and Hopscotch. IIM Ahmedabad has always motivated its students to take up entrepreneurship as a career and this year, BrowserStack-A self-funded, rapidly growing young technology start-up operating in over 130 countries, was also a first-time recruiter. A total of 11 students opted out of the placement process for they want to start their own ventures in various sectors.
The placement process was carried out in two stages, namely, the lateral process and final placement process. About 50% of the batch was eligible for lateral placements. Firms from diverse sectors such as Banking & Financial Services, Internet & E-commerce, Consumer Services, Technology, Analytics and Pharmaceuticals were a part of lateral process. Among the companies that participated in the lateral process were Microsoft, Alvarez & Marsal, Amazon, Aditya Birla Group, Flipkart, Star TV, Google, etc.
