The final placement report of IIM Bangalore (PGP) is as follows:

Number of offers and participating companies: More than 150 firms made 415 job offers to 381 graduates of IIM Bangalore (IIM-B) during campus hiring. Ninety-seven received pre-placement offers, while 98 were given lateral placements based on their work-experience and 21 others were offered overseas placements. Consulting giant Boston Consulting Group made 12 offers, making them the top recruiter this year.

Entrepreneurship: Seven students opted out of placements, preferring to start their own ventures with one opting to work towards improvement of primary education in rural India.

Sector-wise Break-up: A set of diverse roles have been offered to students. Domains include national and international banking, sales and advertising, supply chain and manufacturing, financial consulting, IT and general management.

Other details: This placement season witnessed conglomerates offering leadership roles to various students. These include Reliance Industries Limited (Strategic Services Unit) where candidates will work towards enabling the Chairman’s Office to guide, HCL Technologies’ Entrepreneur@Residence, Cisco, Mahindra Group, Hinduja Group, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Cipla, DTDC and Ranbaxy.

 

Companies: Both regular and new recruiters made a beeline for recruiting this season. Some top names include:

Bank of America, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered, HSBC, Swiss Investment bank UBS and Kotak Mahindra Bank

 

Consulting/Finance/Equity firms

Greenwich and Roland Berger, Blackstone Group (London), Avendus Capital,

Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey, AT Kearney, Bain and Booz, Arga Investment

 

Consumer goods and services

Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo and Airtel (offered international and Indian profiles)

 

IT/E-commerce/ IT consulting domain/ITES

Amazon, Microsoft, Cognizant, IBM, Capgemini, Genpact and Glopore IMS

Cisco, Mahindra Group, Hinduja Group, Cipla, DTDC and Ranbaxy. HUL, Nestle, Kraft Foods, Asian Paints, GlaxoSmithKline, L’Oreal and Nokia
