A lot is happening at IIMB these days. But it is the news about IIM Bangalore website being hacked by Viagra sellers that is hot today.

The Hottest IIM Bangalore news that is making rounds finds its revelation in Google Cache. The snapshot of the official website of IIM Bangalore or IIMB taken on April 12th of IIMB shows that the website has been hacked by Viagra sellers! It has been a week since then and it seems that the IIMB website is still struggling with the attack and remains inaccessible.

Online security measures take a backseat in India but IIM Bangalore - one of the top B-schools in India which provides management education and training to some of the brightest minds in India - is expected to keep ahead of the technological innovations. It is time when Ethical Hacking and Online Security should be given a serious thought by private and government sectors.

Bad news apart, a lot is happening at IIMB. IIM Bangalore has entered into a strategic alliance with the Robert H Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, US and the School of Management, Zhejiang University, China and will offer a joint global week-long senior management programme to executives and entrepreneurs where they will study innovation and leadership models in India, US, and China. The programme will be a wonderful platform for networking, international business education, and professional development. At the end of the programme, students will receive a joint certificate from all the three institutions as well as separate certificates from each of the three institutions.

IIMB is also fine-tuning its curriculum to prepare its students better for the job. IIM Bangalore reviews its courses every three years and a new committee is formed every time for the purpose. It is due to this exercise that the 2011 batch of IIM Bangalore got to work with companies in emerging markets like Africa, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, learned to pitch for new business ventures, gain a global perspective through student exchange programmes with European, American and South Asian colleges, and honed their skills. Before that, more elective courses were weaved into the courses while the core subjects were reduced.

IIMB also allows its students to opt out of campus placements if they want to start their own ventures and give it a try after two years, if their start-ups fail. This year, IIM Bangalore along with IIM Lucknow, had also waived off a part of the participation fees that it used to charge to domestic and overseas companies for participating in its campus placement drives to attract more companies for on-campus recruitments.
