IIM-C PGPEX grads fetch Rs 20.4 lakh average salary

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) concluded the placement for its fifth batch of Post-Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPEX). The highest salary offered is Rs 28 lakh per annum. 37 out of the 44 students in this batch participated in the placement process attracting 49 offers.
Offers came from 51 companies that participated in campus hiring including McKinsey IT, Microsoft, Google, Cognizant Business Consulting, Infosys, Amazon, Accenture, HCL Technologies, Take Solutions and Wipro BPO. (Read more)
Tech Mahindra made the maximum number of offers (10) while Take Solutions offered the highest salary. The job offers were spread between IT/consulting sector (18), consulting (11), product management (7), sales/marketing (7), business development (5), and general management (1). Recruiters including Sears IT, Medtronic, Keane Consulting, CGN Consulting, Fi-Tek, Microsoft, Accenture BPO and Wipro BPO, participated here for the first time.
Students will go on to join these companies as vice-presidents, senior business managers, consultants and senior consultants. Sectors such as auto, pharma, oil and gas, and metal & mining were also represented through the recruiting companies. (Read full story)
IIM-C launched PGPEX in 2006 as a full-time residential programme providing a unique blend of conceptual knowledge, problem solving skills, ethical skills, experience sharing and networking opportunities for the ambitious middle and senior level executives. This program aims at preparing such executives for leadership positions in Indian and global organizations.

Despite a 40% increase in the 2012 batch size, IIM Shillong saw successful placements with 44 companies making a total of 105 offers to 93 students and the highest salary offered was Rs 19 lakh per annum. (Read more)
