IIM-C starts Post-doctoral Research Fellowships
Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, popularly known as IIM Calcutta, has taken the next step to promote research excellence by deciding to institute five Post-doctoral Research Fellowships (PDRFs) from 2013-2014.
The PDRF allows researchers to do independent research rather than a supervised one. It will allow management researchers in India to work on management theories relevant in the Indian context. It will also enable faculty members of IIMC to collaborate with bright and young researchers in India for various projects.
Five students will be enrolled every year for the PDRF. Selected candidates will be attached to an appropriate group, while a faculty member will act as a mentor and collaborator for the group. The Group may use the services of the fellow for teaching or research assistance and handling tutorials.
During the two years of fellowship, candidates will receive a monthly stipend, medical benefits and insurance, as well as an annual contingency grant.
