IIM Lucknow ties up with GMAC
IIM Lucknow - one of the new IIMs - has joined the evergrowing list of member schools of GMAC in India. Other six Indian management institutes that share this status with IIM-L include IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, NMIMS University's School of Business Management, Great Lakes Institute of Management, and S P Jain Institute of Management & Research.
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is a non-profit education organisation of leading graduate business schools across the world and is the owner of the popular Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT exam) that is used for admission to more than 5,400 graduate business and management programs across 2000 b-schools in more than 110 countries. In India, GMAT scores are currently accepted by 74 business schools for admission to over 150 programs.
Worldwide, only about 200 schools are GMAC members. Membership to GMAC is free but is only available by invitation. Being a member of GMAC indicates that IIM Lucknow is committed to excellence in graduate management education. A Board of Directors elected from member schools and industry oversees GMAC, its strategic goals, its progress and its moves. They contribute in maintaining and improving the quality of management education at a global level.
IIM Lucknow will have the benefit of having access to the latest market research in management education as well as a larger student base through this association. The GMAC membership will also help the institute to reach to more international participants and create a โtruly global centre of excellence in management education'.
