IIM Ranchi Summer placement: Average stipend increases by 34%

The summer placement process at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi wrapped up with 62 companies recruiting 123 PGDM students of batch 2014-16. The highest domestic stipend stood at Rs 1,60,000 this year. The highest international stipend offered to the students is Rs 2,50,000.

The highest stipend offered to the students saw a hike of 25% as compared to last year. The average stipend also increased by 34% over last year, making it to Rs 57,900 this year. Out of the total companies which participated in the recruitment process, 54% of the companies, 26 firms, were first time recruiters. The average number of offers per recruiter has increased by 20% over last year.

Various students opted to intern with Not-for-Profit Organizations and Non-Government Organizations such as Sarthak Foundation and Rakshak Foundation. Also, various companies from Energy Management, Sustainability & Event Management areas participated in the placement process.

Students were also recruited for Leadership Program of Jindal Steel & Power. Other roles such as HR Analytics, Industrial Relations, Corporate HR, etc. were offered to students by the firm.

Maximum students chose Sales and Marketing as their preferable domain with 35% of the total batch opting for the domain. It was followed by Finance sector where 21% of students opted for it. A total of 16% of students opted for Operations domain and 14% each for IT / Analytics and General Management & Consulting.
