IIM Shillong placement 2015: Highest package offer Rs 21 lpa
The placement process at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong for sixth batch (2013-15) of Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management has been wrapped up. The institute received 130 offers for the placement of 118 students.
The highest package bagged by IIM Shillong’s student is Rs 21 lakh per annum. While, the average CTC stood at Rs 13.04 lakh per annum. Out of the strength of 119 students, only one student opted out of the placement process to pursue his own entrepreneurial aspirations. In total 130 placement offers were made by 42 participating recruiters. A 30 per cent hike has been observed in the number of offers with salaries of Rs 15 LPA or above. Also, 21 per cent of the batch received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs).
Sales and marketing came out to be the most preferred sector amongst students with 28 per cent of the batch opting for it. Finance sector stood near to the sales and marketing sector at 27 per cent. While, the maximum offers were made in BFSI sector with 31 per cent of the total offers. Twenty-two per cent of the offers were made in IT/ITES/Analytics sector.
Google, American Express, L’Oreal, Perfetti Van Melle, Hero MotoCorp, Flipkart, mjunction and many more were the first time recruiters at IIM Shillong. Maximum offers, 12, were made by Cognizant, followed by HSBC which made 10 offers.
