IIM Trichy’s new campus worth Rs 450 crore
Indian Institute of Management - Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy) is all set to get its own new campus. According to information, an estimated Rs 450 crore will be spent on construction.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) will undertake construction of the new campus, to be set up over 68 hectares. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the same was signed in Delhi. The construction will begin during March-April 2014 and is expected to be completed by March 2016.
The residential campus will accommodate 1,500 students and 300 faculty and staff members and comprise of academic facilities, world class hostels for the students, residences for the faculty and staff, recreational facilities and a well-equipped Management Development Centre.
The master planning and designing of the campus has been entrusted to a firm of leading architects. IIM Trichy aims to have a green campus and would be self-sufficient in terms of its water requirements in 5-7 years of its operations.
