IIM Trichy to inaugurate Chennai centre
On November 21, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Trichy will inaugurate its Chennai centre. This year, the Chennai centre will accept 28 students who have already been shortlisted. Next year, the student intake at the centre will be increased to 50.
The Chennai centre of IIM Trichy is the first of its kind as it aims to facilitate professionals in the city to join its three-year PGDBM (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management) programme. Situated at Ekkattuthangal, the Chennai centre of IIM Trichy, is spread over 4,000 sq ft. It has four classrooms, a computer lab, wi-fi connectivity, conference room and a library.
Meanwhile, the architectural master plan for its campus at Trichy is being finalised. The country’s 11th Indian Institute of Management - Tiruchirappalli or Trichy (IIM-T) was launched on June 15, 2011. It has 100 students in the current academic year and functions out of the old library building of NIT Trichy on the Trichy-Thanjavur Road, which was renovated for the purpose. Its own campus is to be set up on a 70-acre land at Navalpattu on the way to Bharathidasan University, situated on the Trichy-Pudukkottai Road.
