IRMA 2012 Test Pattern and Analysis

The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) is one of the pioneer academic institutions in rural management education and research. Itsย two-year Post-graduate Programme in Rural Management (PRM) has been regarded equivalent to Master's degree programme by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

English Comprehension

  • There were 2 passages, one on Indian National Statistics and other on the need for Indian policy makers to be exposed to academicians. The 2 passages together carried a total of 29 questions based on inferences, synonyms, antonyms, phrases and idioms. There were 6 questions on jumbled paragraphs. The cloze test had 15 questions, paragraph being on Subsidies on LPG, Kerosene in India.

Quantitative Ability

  • Number of questions โ€“ 50
  • The questions were mostly focused on Data Interpretation with 8 sets covering Line Graph (Universities), Bar Graphs (Trains, Students/Exam, Cricket), Tables (Salesman, Offices, Entrance tests) and Pie Chart (Companies). There were 3 questions on Probability, 2 on arithmetic and 5 on Data sufficiency.

Analytical Reasoning

  • Number of questions โ€“ 60
  • There were questions on Seating arrangement, Deductions, Odd man out, Syllogisms, Argument strengthening/Weakening, Inferences/Assumptions, Sequential Input-Output, Data Sufficiency etc.

Issues of Social Concern

  • Number of questions โ€“ 40
  • There was an equal weight age given to current issues, Indian economy, and rural development. Specific focus was on certain issues like operation flood, RBI, various governmentย schemes related to woman empowerment and other national schemes & policies, national statistics, economy etc.ย
