JOBS ARE BACK AND HOW??
โPinkโ- it seems was the most talked about color in the last one year all over the globe.ย The balance sheets of most companies
(whether in India or abroad) were by no means in the โPinkโ of their health.ย With the signs of recession looming over the globe, even the biggies in the corporate world were threatened.ย Such was the doom that even giants like Lehman brothers collapsed like a pack of cards.ย With the pink in the balance sheet fizzling out, the pink with the employees seemed to escalate.ย Pink slips were the talk of the town as they were being generously distributed to the employees by companies more than one.ย The media covered the news of lay-offs on a frequent basis and it seemed that no company was spared in the run to cut cost.
However, all of that is a thing of the past.ย As the turn of the year draws close, the expected turn around in the economy also seems to become more palatable than before.ย A mere sneak-peak into the news papers is enough for one to realize that the jobs are making their way back into the economy.ย Indian Institute of Management (IIM) - Ahmedabad managed to place its entire batch in the least time ever.ย What also needs to be considered is that this was the largest batch that IIM-Ahmedabad has ever had.ย Also, the IIP growth in the first half of 2009 has been a strong 6.5% which is better than what most people estimated.ย And most importantly, Mr. Warren Buffet (the second richest man on the globe and the biggest investor) is of the opinion that โPanic is overโ.ย Now these are some very concrete signs of the economy getting out of recession and recruitments finding a place again in the corporate dictionary.
And if you thought that you as students are not going to be impacted by this change then you need to get your assumptions right.ย The students are going to be the most affected lot by these positive changes in the economy.ย Most students reading this article, I
