โ€˜Pinkโ€™- it seems was the most talked about color in the last one year all over the globe.ย  The balance sheets of most companies (whether in India or abroad) were by no means in the โ€˜Pinkโ€™ of their health.ย  With the signs of recession looming over the globe, even the biggies in the corporate world were threatened.ย  Such was the doom that even giants like Lehman brothers collapsed like a pack of cards.ย  With the pink in the balance sheet fizzling out, the pink with the employees seemed to escalate.ย  Pink slips were the talk of the town as they were being generously distributed to the employees by companies more than one.ย  The media covered the news of lay-offs on a frequent basis and it seemed that no company was spared in the run to cut cost.

However, all of that is a thing of the past.ย  As the turn of the year draws close, the expected turn around in the economy also seems to become more palatable than before.ย  A mere sneak-peak into the news papers is enough for one to realize that the jobs are making their way back into the economy.ย  Indian Institute of Management (IIM) - Ahmedabad managed to place its entire batch in the least time ever.ย  What also needs to be considered is that this was the largest batch that IIM-Ahmedabad has ever had.ย  Also, the IIP growth in the first half of 2009 has been a strong 6.5% which is better than what most people estimated.ย  And most importantly, Mr. Warren Buffet (the second richest man on the globe and the biggest investor) is of the opinion that โ€˜Panic is overโ€™.ย  Now these are some very concrete signs of the economy getting out of recession and recruitments finding a place again in the corporate dictionary.

And if you thought that you as students are not going to be impacted by this change then you need to get your assumptions right.ย  The students are going to be the most affected lot by these positive changes in the economy.ย  Most students reading this article, I believe, are going to be either pursuing their graduation or post graduation currently and mind you both these groups are going to have a tremendous scope for growth now.ย  With the US economy also getting back on track, the outsourcing business will be on the recovery path very soon.ย  This will mean higher growth prospects for all the undergraduate students who wish to work for BPOs, KPOs or LPOs along with pursuing their education.ย  For the postgraduate students, needless to say, the chances of campus placements will be much brighter and the salary packages offered will be in the higher spectrum too.ย  And for all those who are still confused as to whether they must pursue their post graduation or not, simply close your eyes and take an admission because what awaits you is history.ย  You might not get such a great opportunity again.ย  So pack your backs and brace yourself for the journey of your life.ย  All the very best!!!
