Kochi to nurture IIM-K satellite campus

IIM-Kozhikode Satellite Campus at Kochi IIM-Kozhikode is all set to launch its satellite campus in Kochi on June 9, 2012. It will focus mainly on full-time and part-time programmes for middle and senior level executives. Catering to executive education, the campus will also offer short duration management development programmes.

 

While the State Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy will launch the satellite campus at Infopark on Saturday, felicitation will be offered by non other than the Finance Minister, K.M. Mani, the Industries Minister, P.K. Kunhalikutty and the Excise Minister, K. Babu.

 

Located within Kochi's Infopark, initially, the satellite campus will also conduct specialized courses for executives of IT sector. To begin with, the center will offer one-year executive MBA programme, two-year part-time programmes, apart from numerous short duration management development programmes.

 

IIM-Kozhikode director, Prof Debashis Chatterjee said that Kochi was chosen to create the apt environment for facilitating the transformation of Kerala into a business hub and as an investment destination. He added that being located within the Infopark, the campus will help the executives at the park to hone their management skills, and contribute to the competitiveness and growth of the Indian IT sector. According to Prof Chatterjee, the launch will help the state of Kerela achieve its vision to emerge as an investor friendly, liberal and efficient destination for business. Read more
