Top B-schools in the country have decided to eradicate all the constraints set in the patriarchal society for women by empowering them realize their dreams. With this intent, they have launched MBA courses especially for women. It's surprising but it's true that some of the business schools are not even charging for this programme,

A management programme for women entrepreneurs has been recently launched by the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad (www.isb.edu) in association with Goldman Sachs, USA. Deepak Chandra, Director, ISB said, "The purpose of the course is to empower women. We focus on helping budding entrepreneurs with their projects." This programme is being offered by the institute for no fee. The programme is specifically advantageous for women, who belong to financially weaker strata of the society & cannot pursue management education in dearth of sufficient funds for the same.

The programme run by ISB has trained almost 180 students until now, and any candidate with a graduate degree is eligible to apply for this course. It runs in four distinct phases, and the selection process is quite lengthy in which the aspirants need to qualify a face-to-face interview round.

A similar programme in management for women is offered by IIM-B for a number of years now at the N S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (www.nsrcel.org) for six weeks. The programme syllabus is structured to enable women establish themselves as successful entrepreneurs in the society & explore tremendous business opportunities available. A number of students opt for incubation process post course completion. This centre grooms the students in such a way that the students can present their business ideas with full confidence. Once the business plan gets approval, the centre further helps the enrolled students by providing them with adequate practical exposure and all possible administrative help.
