Mystory@Payal Saxena: How I made my career- the challenges and successes
My Career Journey: Why I chose this career, the deciding factors!
After completing my MBA with dual specialization in H.R Marketing, I was looking for a good opportunity. By luck, I managed to get a good job soon after my exams. Though the job was not exactly what I had wished for, I opted to go for it and continued to fulfill the responsibilities with complete dedication. Soon, I sensed something negative in the atmosphere and decided to quit. It was then that my family life and health started deteriorating and there came a time when my destiny compelled me to even stop thinking about my career. I had to give up everything that I had.
Times changed and after a gap of 2-3 years, my family life stabilized and I again got an opportunity to get back in my professional zone, but the opportunity didnโt last for long and I was forced to quit again. Though I was strong enough to bear the uncertainties of life: professional and personal, this time my heart refused to cooperate. I was happy in my domain, but not satisfied.
One day, I was sitting and thinking about my career and analyzing where I went wrong. I was an MBA, an educated girl with an optimistic attitude. Where do I go wrong? What did I miss?
As an H.R. professional, I could just think of my resume, through which I could analyze myself perfectly. I picked up my resume and started doing just that. I was surprised to learn that though an H.R Professional, most of my achievements had been in the domain of writing. I was also fond of poetry. โWriting is my hobby!โ The words of my HR Professor echoed in my mind. He had once said, โLove your job and your job will love you back. It will give you the brightest opportunity even when there is no opportunity at allโ.
I loved writing and thought of giving it a second chance, this time professionally. I restructured my resume as that of a writer and posted it on various jobs search websites. Suddenly my destiny again got a jolt. This time a pleasant surprise. I got a call from a reputed company for the job of a content writer, with a handsome salary package. I joined this company and this job of writing opened a new gateway for me. For the first time in my life, I tasted satisfaction.
Since then, I have been exploring new domains of writing and have learnt a lot. Besides, the world is going digital and naturally requires more writers which thus gave me a brilliant opportunity in writing and eventually a stepping stone to the field of Digital Marketing as both go hand in hand. Now, I am polishing my writing skills and learning Digital Marketing too.
My professors were right, โMBA is not just a course but a way of living.โ The passion of writing and learning of MBA in HR actually opened the gates of my career. Now I am living a happy life with the โJob Satisfaction,โ that I always wanted!
