Good news for FMS students and aspirants who are planning to take admission! Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) will soon to have a new campus from 2013 onwards. Since its inception in 1954, it is running its operations in the same building. It's been years that students and faculty have complained about the infrastructural conditions of the institute and it has turned out as a difficult job to house the 1,200 students in a small school.

But it's a time to change and now it will have its own new campus. The new campus will be a residential one and it is located in South campus next to Ram Lal Anand College. Raj S Dhankar, Dean of FMS said that, "it will be a four-storey, state-of-the-art building with big classrooms, conference halls, sports facilities and will have all the management related facilities". It has obtained the required permission to begin the construction and it will begin in 4-5 months time and it will be ready to use in 2013.

Since long management school has been trying to get a bigger campus so that it can accommodate all students wisely. This plan was on board from last two years but it was only this year that all permissions were granted. Planning Commission and Ministry of Human Resource Development is funding the project.

Currently, it is running its operations from a 2 acre campus in North campus, which is a Wi-Fi enabled and has video conferencing rooms, projectors and all other amenities but the building is too small too accommodate such large numbers of students. Dhankar added to the statement that, when the school had started in 1954, there were around 120 students studying here. By 1990, this number was 300. In the last 20 years, the strength has gone up by four times but the size of the building is still the same. Therefore, the need for a new campus was immediate.

The new campus of the FMS will be a residential one and will have 200 seats each for men and women in separate hostels. It is also going to have a positive effect in the ranking of the school.
