Now, learn to trade stocks in classroom
MBA students of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) will now get lessons in capital markets in a mock-trading classroom along with live feeds from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Until now, such sessions were organised only for game shows and seminars in management schools. In this new centre β a first of its kind in Mumbai β funded by BSE and NMIMS, students will get real-time exposure in stock trading. The course also covers details in merchant and investment banking.
The centre was set up recently. NMIMS has been running the course in capital markets in collaboration with BSE for the past four years.
Anupam Rastogi, the chairman of the centre, said, βThere are softwares available in market for mock trading. But till now, they were used for seminars or game shows. Ours is probably the first institute to organise mock-trading sessions in classrooms.
βThe students have access to all information available on www.bseindia.com. Live feeds help them get a better understanding of the stock market. It gives them practical and analytical exposure on how a market functions, how information is relayed in a market.β
