NSBM 2012 announces 19 student brand managers

Nissan, a Japanese car maker is furthering its brand building exercise in India by roping in management students. The third edition of Nissan Student Brand Manager (NSBM) program announced 19 winners this year. The program attracted young and aspiring management students amounting to 2,467 registrations from 590 colleges across 25 Indian cities with 880 registrations from Bombay alone.

Many eminent and renowned personalities formed the panel of judges for NSBM 2012 including Dr Nirmalya Kumar, marketing guru & faculty of London Business School; Prahlad Kakkar, ad-film director, Genesis Films; Harish Bijoor, CEO of Harish Bijoor Consults Inc; Josy Paul, national creative director, BBDO India and Nitish Tipnis, director of sales & marketing, Hover Automotive India, who played a key role in short listing finalists from across the country. The final round was held in Mumbai with 41 contestants.

The grand finale saw Siva Sankar from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode becoming the national winner of NSBM 2012, while the second and third spots were secured by Tushar Sehgal and Neha Damle, respectively, both from Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmadabad (MICA).

This year's 19 Nissan Student Brand Managers include students from reputed institutes including IIM Bengaluru, IIM Kolkata, IIM Chennai, FMS, MDI, IIT Bengaluru and IIT Chennai, among others. They will engage in a wide range of activities this year, from creating unique events of their own, setting up test-drive days at their respective colleges to creating buzz about brand Nissan among the student community.

The NSBM program was launched in 2010 with the vision of identifying young entrepreneurial talent across the country and taking it to the next level. Hover Automotive India is the sales, marketing, distribution and dealership partner of Nissan Motors in India. Read more
