<p>The time is ripe to promote business awareness and celebrate emerging corporate excellence.&nbsp; One of the biggest management festivals of India is just round the corner. Come 5th of November, 2009, NITIE plays host to cr&egrave;me de la cr&egrave;me of the B-school circuit as its annual business conclave, PRERANA takes off with a bang.</p> <p><br /><br />Since its inception in 1994 with a first of its kind Summer Project Contest, Prerana has moved from strength to strength, today drawing more than 10000 participants, from all across the country. In its 15th edition, Prerana is bigger and better than ever before, with events spanning three days set to challenge B-schools and corporates alike. The following are the events to look forward to this year.</p> <p><br /><br />The 3 day fest takes off with the elite Prerana Business Meet where industry stalwarts and visionaries deliberate over the topic: &ldquo;Demystifying the Reforms enigma: The How, Why and Why Not of Laissez Faire&rdquo;. This year&rsquo;s speakers include some luminaries like <strong>Mr. Gurcharan Das</strong> (renowned author &amp; columnist (TOI)) former Managing Director, Strategic Planning, Procter &amp; Gamble Worldwide, <strong>Mr. Mukesh Malik</strong>, Director (O&amp;T), Citibank South Asia, <strong>Mr. Ram Gopal</strong>, Managing Director, Barclays India, <strong>Ms. Meera Sanyal</strong>, Country Executive, Royal Bank Scotland India, <strong>Mr. Narayan Ramachandran</strong>, Country Head, Morgan Stanley India and <strong>Dr. H.B.Joshipura</strong>, Chairman &amp; Managing Director, Glaxo SmithKline and Speaker in the Business Meet.</p> <p><br /><br /><strong>PBQ (Prerana Business Quiz)</strong> is one of the most awaited events amongst the B-school quizzers since its inception in 2001. The stage will be set for a corporate Vs student showdown, and this is one that will go all the way to the wire. The Prerana Business Quiz traditionally serves as a fitting climactic finale to Prerana. With Radhakrishnan Srinivasan (RK), the face of NEO cricket, upholding the mantle of the quizmaster, PBQ-2009 is poised to be a crackling event.</p> <p><br /><br />The <strong>Summer Project Contest</strong>, the flagship Event of Prerana, is the first and foremost event of its kind in the country. It gives the students an opportunity to not only have their work reviewed by eminent industrialists, but also rub shoulders with the best talent that the country has to offer in their area of specialization. This year, the Summer Project Contest has received over 200 entries. The contest covers all aspects of management with its five modules for Marketing, Finance, IT, HR and SCM. It is one of the most respected events on the Prerana schedule and is actively sought after by B-School students from top colleges like IIM Ahmadabad, Calcutta, Indore, Lucknow, Bangalore, XLRI, MDI, FMS, JBIMS and the like.</p> <p><br /><br />This year the fest has corporate participation from 54 companies with special PPI offers as prizes for events like <strong>Stratagem</strong>, SCM case study competition. Also, the financial acumen of the students is thoroughly tested with the event &ldquo;<strong>Beat the Street</strong>&rdquo;, the finance case study competition.</p> <p><br /><br />The fest combines business with pleasure as the popular rock band &ldquo;Parikrama&rdquo; rock the NITIE lawns with more than 4000 rock enthusiasts swinging to their tunes.</p> <p><br /><br />With Prerana 2009, NITIE continues its tradition of providing its students and the rest of the B-school crowd a platform to benchmark their knowledge with the best in the country and to keep inspiring the budding managers as they take their first steps in the high profile corporate world.</p>
