Sikkim Manipal University MBA Distance Learning will Start From 25 July 2011
Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) MBA distance learning programme, will start from 25 July 2011. The application submission deadline for this academic year is 20 June 2011. The course was started with the vision to provide best education to Indian students. The aim of this MBA course is to offer students with extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of management. The study material has been prepared in a manner, so as to enhance the student's analytical skills, which is a prerequisite of this stream.
Established in the year 1995, Sikkim Manipal University was started with the partnership of Government of Sikkim and Manipal Education. In addition to this, Sikkim Manipal University has been accredited by University Grants Commission and currently serves nearly 4lakh students across India, through 6500 mentors and more than 725 learning centers.

Sikkim Manipal University Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Approved by AICTE and accreditated NS-EN ISO 9001:2000, the university offers MBA in Finance, HR, Marketing and Systems. Students can opt for any two of the specializations mentioned above. In addition to this, the department also conducts periodic training and development programmes to Government, officers, professional managers and students. The total number of seats available for this course is 60.
The MBA provided by SMU, is a two-year course and has dual specialization. Following are the options available to students:

Eligibility
Students desirous of taking admission into MBA programme, are required to fulfill the following conditions:
- Graduate Engineers and Bachelor's degree holders in 10+2+3 scheme with at least 50% marks (with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC students) at graduation level, will be chosen based on Management Aptitude Test (MAT)/(CAT)
- Candidates should apply to Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) on the prescribed form quoting their MAT/CAT score.
- Applicants will also be chosen on the basis of their performance in Group Discussions and Interviews to be conducted at SMIT, Rangpo
- For candidates of Sikkimese origin, twelve seats are reserved. Candidates for this category will be recommended by Director - Technical Education, Govt. of Sikkim.
Fee and other Details
The total fee of Sikkim Manipal University MBA Distance Learning is 147,100. The fee can be paid in lump sum amount, which is one time every year and to be paid at the beginning of odd semester (1 Aug. to 31 August every year). Apart from this, the institution provides students with option of paying the fees in two easy installments per year.

Evaluation Process During MBA:
After getting enrolled in the course, students are required to go through the following:
- Internal Assessment (includes marks for the Assignments, Practical Examinations and the Final Semester Projects & Viva voce)
- Project (conducted with University approved examiners and schedule)
- Semester end examination (held in January and July for national students)
- Award of Degree (are awarded after a student successfully passes all the papers of the programme)
