The one-year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) offered by SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has got the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval.

The programme duration will now stretch to 15 months, from the current 12 months, bringing it at par with a diploma programme. The course fee will come down to Rs 13 lakhs from 14 lakhs due to exemption of service tax. However, the institute has increased the fee by an additional Rs 20,000 for the extra contact hours and the additional faculty time. The changes will reflect in the next academic batch 2014-15. Total intake of the programme is 120.

The PGPM will not see any significant change in terms of course content. The web learning component, that used to be a three-month optional exercise for students prior to formal course commencement, might now be included as part of the regular programme, however, SPJMIR isn’t sure of adding an internship component to the program.

Due to increase in time, participants will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Executive) after the successful completion of the program. However, the name of the program remains unchanged to maintain the branding.
